The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is a Cabinet-level executive branch department of the federal government charged with providing lifelong healthcare services to eligible military veterans at the 170 VA medical centers and outpatient clinics located throughout the country. The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is an organization created in 1920 by World War I veterans for disabled military veterans of the United States Armed Forces that helps them and their families through various means, such as the Disability Transition Assistace Program, Disabled American Veterans Transition Service Officers offering help with treatment records, filing initial claims for VA benefits and much more. The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is an organization of U.S. war veterans, who, as military service members fought in wars, campaigns, and expeditions on foreign land, waters, or airspace.  The organization was established twice separately, once by James C. Putnam on September 29, 1899, in Columbus, Ohio.  The VFW is headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri.  The organization was congressionally chartered in 1936 under the presidency of Franklin D. Fisher House Foundation, Inc. is an international, nonprofit established to improve the quality of life for members of the military, veterans, and their families.
